A fire has broken out at the Bono Energy Terminal along the Apapa–Oworonshoki Expressway near Coconut Bus Stop in Olodi Apapa, Lagos, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
"The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa–Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow," the statement read.
The cause of the fire had not been determined as of the time of filing this report.
Emergency responders remain at the scene, while authorities are expected to provide further details on the extent of the damage, possible casualties and the cause of the incident after preliminary investigations.
Motorists and residents in the area have been advised to exercise caution as emergency operations continue.
